Andrew Grose, Economist

Draws on financial economics expertise from markets across the world to advise on competition, regulatory and commercial disputes.

Andrew has advised on competition, regulation and commercial matters and disputes across markets in Europe, America and Asia. He has led fact-intensive investigations for clients facing regulatory scrutiny and litigation, and explained complex technical analysis in terms that courts, regulators and non-specialists can assess.

Andrew has particular depth in financial economics, having directed teams responding to investigations into alleged market misconduct across a wide range of markets, including French government bonds, UK government bond futures, Singapore fuel derivatives and the American dairy market. He has also directed valuation work in commercial disputes in the energy, retail and wealth management sectors, as well as in securities litigation.

In competition matters, Andrew has delivered quantitative analysis supporting clients through merger reviews, including assessing market concentration and the likelihood of regulatory intervention following an acquisition. He has also advised leading global digital platforms on data protection matters raised by the Irish Data Protection Commission.

Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration from London Business School and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours), with first-class honours in economics, from the University of Sydney.
