We were very pleased to sponsor this year’s University of Sydney Economics and Econometrics Society case competition. The student teams grappled with the merits of allowing firms to coordinate in the supply of essential services during Covid-19, trading off the benefits of collaboration for supply against the risk that such a policy reduces the intensity of rivalry in important markets.
Bronwyn Taylor and Dylan Frangos took on the difficult role of judging the submissions and choosing the winners. We received 20 submissions and really enjoyed reading the whole range of perspectives from University of Sydney’s promising up and coming economists!
